The lessons he taught me have been priceless. Chief came to me in 2003,  from a trainer
in Maryland, who retired him from being an A-Circuit Hunter/Jumper when he began going
blind from Equine Uveitis - ("Moonblind")

To this day I have yet to meet another more trusting horse as Chief. A Few years passed
and he eventually lost all his sight in his right eye, and most of it in his left eye. Chief still
willingly went out and showed every weekend. Chief learned to Neckrein, and we
discovered he had an amazing Western Jog! He even competed in the Trail class with
little hesitation. Over the years Chief has given confidence to numerous rider, young and
old, and when there was a youth kid without a horse at a show, Chief gladly took the job
and took care of his rider.

Now Chief is 20 years young and happily retired with us. He is now completely blind in
both eyes, but don't tell him that! He's Fat and Happy, barefoot and moves completely
sound. He knows where every dip, turn, and change in the footing is. We could all learn a
lot about life and perseverance from Chief
